Monitor the carbon footprint and efficiency indicators in resource consumption (water and energy), as well as in waste production and GHG emissions (greenhouse gases);Undertake continuous improvement in all dimensions of sustainability: environmental, social, and economic;
Contribute to the recovery of local heritage (cultural and natural), to the rehabilitation of the identity of places, in perfect harmony and dialogue with local communities;Plan the future projects of the brand, submitting them to sustainability criteria and resource efficiency, while also prioritizing the preservation of the identity traits of the houses and buildings, contributing to the regeneration of territories with demographic decline, promoting local economic activities, and integrating local products into buildings, services, and experiences;
Respect the principles of ecodesign and the circular economy, introducing sustainable and durable solutions, designing components to be easily disassembled, recovered, or reused at the end of their life cycle;Train and motivate our employees through training and awareness actions on sustainability principles and responsible tourism;
Ensure that the sustainability principles of the brand, as outlined in the welcome manual, are respected and adopted by employees with commitment;Promote sustainability principles among customers through the "Manifesto for the Awareness of the Environmentally Friendly Traveler Guest";
Participate in or promote environmental education activities, measures to preserve biodiversity, the fight against climate change, and social responsibility in the communities where we are present, also collaborating in sustainable development projects in these territories;Regularly report on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) performance to official or certifying entities, and inform customers about the environmental and social practices, measures, and actions of the company;
Additionally, we are committed to the vision and concerns expressed in the ‘Brundtland Report’ presented in 1987, as well as to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proclaimed in 2015 by the UN General Assembly and reflected in the 2030 Agenda. At the European level, we are aligned with the goals outlined in the European Green Deal 2050 and the Tourism Strategy 2027 of Turismo de Portugal. The commitments of the brand will be regularly audited and confirmed by independent entities. Currently, we are recognized by the “Biosphere” certification awarded to Story Studio PIÓDÃO and the “Turismo 360º Empresas Program” from Turismo de Portugal, granted to the brand.
